I'm going to start off with news of the 1st anniversary of Valentines parkrun. Cake was a plenty and fancy dress was the theme of the day. A few 88's took part and dressed up as Spiderman, an Arab, a Bunny Girl and a Redman (actually not sure what Gary was??) and after a few days hoofing and assing around Jenny & Nigel revealed there costumes as CJ & Mitch from Baywatch, not sure who was who though!!

Oops sorry wrong pix :-)
Nigel & Jenny
Well Jenny was 1st lady home with her pacer and with a PB to boot, and talking of boots everyone's favourite pair of crackers, knacker crackers that is ( haha see what i done there!!) Caroline and Ian Cummins walked off with a nice pair :-) of boots that is lol, well done to the male and female Valentines parkrun 2011/2012 Points Champions.
Looking good CHAMPS :-)
Now to Sundays cross country at BasVegas, the sun was shining, but a bit chilly and breezy and muddy :-)
The team a bit changed from the last cross country outing due to injuries and a fear of mud, consisted of Nigel, Ian, Caroline T, Sam, Steve R, Gary, Jenny, Caroline C, Mick, Timi, and back for a second mud pack Mr & Mrs H, Chris and Claire :-)
Missing from picture, Gary in toilet!! and Steve, well he is always missing!!
Nigel was the first male 88s home with a strong performance after a week on the lash with Jenny, although Jenny didn't fair as well losing to SuperCooper (Vicky) of BRR which doesn't happen too often, so we will be looking to Jenny to make up for that loss soon. Ian was 2nd home for the 88s with another good showing, proving hard work pays off with good training. First home for the women 88s were Caroline Tuck who is showing consistent improvement and form over all types of terrain. Second home was Sam Monk with another storming run. Further down the field Gary Cardnell beat Steve Ray and his new shoes, obviously couldn't find a short cut this time. Consistent runs also for Caroline C in her trademark arm warmers and Mick Pegnall who seems to be over his injury setback. Most improved performances go to Howlett and Howlett, Chris and Claire, even with a poor bit of man flu Chris stormed up and down the hills and Claire with a strong powerful performance was close on the heals of Mick and Caroline, there could be a sprint finish between these three soon. Trouble is everyone's getting so quick my dad cant get back in time for the finish lol, need to get him a golf cart :-)
Still great running by all followed by the usual Sunday lunch :-) thing was there was more for the lunch than there was running lol,
Timi had a bottle of Magners which was bigger than her :-)
and Caroline Tuck(ed!!) (Sorry) into 2 plates of food, (Luckily no photo Caroline lol) who was obviously carb-ing up for her proper run a couple of hours later down Rush Green Rd, now that's what I call dedication and something we should maybe all try next time :-)
Anyway think that will do for now and i will leave the last word to Jenny
that's C U Next Tuesday :-)
