A Nice Pair :-)

Well it was Valentine Parkrun today and i don't normally get there because of work :-(
I love this event its great to meet loads of people all interested in one thing RUNNING. Its a free weekly timed 5k run at 9am on a Saturday morning and all you need to do is register your details on the Parkrun website http://www.parkrun.com/home and print out your running bar code SIMPLES!!

It made a change to volunteer instead of running (only because of friggin injury!!) and I was handed the role of photographer!! no pressure there then :-/

There were 99 runners but one dropped out to leave 98, with 11 D88's taking part.

Top marks this week go to Team Wilkins, mother and daughter Julie & Sian for posting a pair of new 5K PB's :-) , Hence the blog title, A Nice Pair :-)

As you can see Sian was a little excited at the start nearly pushing her mum Julie off course to pose!! Sian needs to concentrate more on looking where she is going rather than posing for the camera lol

Sian finished in a time 33:20 and Julie in 33:22

Here they are at the finish with Sian overtaking a chinese instead of eating one :-)

WELL DONE TO BOTH JULIE & SIAN XX

Of the other 88's taking part our Super Jen was first lady home in 24:47 and looking rather fit and trim after undergoing a bit of shredding recently!

Caroline Cummins came home in 26:53, Timi in 28:16, Anne 28:50, Julie D 31:03

Ultra Mandy had a new game plan this week, to steal all the run route signs so she could win, but the plan went a bit wrong and came in last!! in 45:42 She now has a new name Ultra Slow!! Mandy was actually the tail runner volunteering to encourage the last runner home. Well done Mandy.

For the male 88's, Ian Cummins was first home in 6th in 20:35, followed by Gaz 21:13 and Sam V 33:04

As usual but a first for me at Parkrun it was food and drink time :-) , this is what us 88's do best although whisper quietly we were with a few BRR friends :-)

Till next time folks :-) Keep Running......................................but more importantly ENJOY IT xx
