Inspiration Pt.2

Inspiration Part 2 - The Elite / Pro Athletes that inspire me :-)

Now this was a difficult one narrowing it down to a top 3!

Michelle Dillon

2 x Olympian, World and European Champion. Michelle won the 2007 London Triathlon, the first year i was watching at London, obviously planting that seed in my mind that's inspiring my journey!

Michelle retired in 2008 due to major back surgery, but as one door closed another opened and she now coaches some of the world's best triathletes under the banner Team Dillon Coaching. Michelle is always offering advice, tips and commenting on my facebook page even asking me for updates on races when she isn't there! Im a big fan of Team Dillon and support all the athletes within the team, so much that i even have my own Team Dillon Cycle Jersey :-) thanx Mish xx

Jodie Stimpson

Coached by Michelle, Jodie is currently Great Britain's number 2, behind Helen Jenkins, but with age on her side and ever improving performances she will surely go on to be Great Britain's number 1 for many years :-)
She is one of the many young talents coached by Michelle and a great ambassador for her sport. Her passion and determination at every race shines through and again will always offer advice, tips and comments on facebook. I had the great privilege to watch this rising star storm away and win the London Triathon last year and get a nice sweaty hug from the Champion at the finish. She then also congratulated me on finishing my London Triathlon! A moment i will always remember and for my dad who couldn't believe what he was seeing lol and now Jodie's his favourite triathlete :-)

I look forward to watching Jodie race in the UK and follow her when i can online for races abroad.

You can read more on Jodie and follow her blog on her website http://www.jodiestimpson.co.uk/

Chrissie Wellington

Well where do you start here?? Probably the World's best endurance athlete. Chrissie is a bit like the terminator as she just destroys the field and times at every race. She has raced 13 Ironman races and won every one :-) , she has also wont the Ironman World Championship 4 times!! Ive been lucky enough to meet Chrissie on a couple of occasions and all you can do is listen in awe. The 2011 Ironaman World Championship in Kona was to me one of the best races i've ever seen in my life. 2 weeks prior to the race Chrissie crashed on her bike leaving her with many internal injuries as well as external visible injuries, but she still managed to drag herself to the start line and WIN. I remember watching this race unfold, not quite believing what was happening and wondering why Chrissie was so far back, but gradually mile by mile she was to catch each person in front of her until she was at the front. A performance i never think i will witness again. A performance that she even broke down in tears over the line and had me screaming with joy at my computer screen!!

You can read more on Chrissie on her Website http://www.chrissiewellington.org/

It was a tough one picking just 3, but many others inspire me.....
